Vacant Space A new sound and image installation by Janek Schaefer in collaboration with Chris Watson and David Tinapple
Does a tree falling in a forest make a sound if no one is there to hear it? Have you ever wondered what happens when you are not there?
Internationally-acclaimed, local sound artist and Guinness Book of Records record-holder Janek Schaefer’s new audio-visual installation, Vacant Space, invites you to experience the world in one small room. Let this beautiful, seductive and immersive work lead you through the infinite vistas of the private lives of sounds and buildings.
This stunning environment will guide you on a constantly shifting tour of hundreds of merging panoramic images and hours of captivating field recordings collected at locations all over the globe by award winning sound recording artist Chris Watson (The Life of Mammals, Big Cat Diary, Life in the Undergrowth).
Experience it now at South Hill Park
