London Photograph Fair
This Sunday is the London Photograph Fair at the Bonnington Hotel, Southampton Row, London. A short walk from the bustling Oxford Street that could easily be overlooked.
London Photograph Fairs, now in its 18th year is devoted solely to the sale of photographic images from the 19th and 20th century, and to books on the history and art of photography. The fair also hosts a group of contemporary photographers.
All the auctions houses have been selling photography recently and last year the Financial Times said:
“Record auction prices for photographs are leading an increasing number of collectors and art funds to invest in this booming sector. On Valentine’s Day, Sotheby’s sold Edward Steichen’s “The Pond - Moonlight” for close to $2.93m…”
If you’re looking for something more affordable for your loved one for the festive season, you might want to consider visiting the fair and picking out one (or more) of Anthony Jones’ photographs.
