Calling all Future Leaders
Are you a disabled or deaf person interested in being a board member in the arts or cultural sector? Do you feel that you have been denied access to this important decision making forum? You might be on a board or advisor group at the moment and feel you need more background information.
Future Leaders is a free seminar programme aimed at de-mystifying the process of being a board member or trustee.
Future Leaders has been researched and devised using the direct experiences of disabled and deaf people within the disability and deaf arts sector as well as the mainstream. The aim is to explore the process of governance; share best practice and assist participants in finding a suitable organisation to work with.
The seminar will be delivered in the comfortable surroundings of Tate Modern through a combination of short presentations, discussion forums and interviews. There will be plenty of opportunity to network with other participants through-out the day.
All participants will be given a unique resource pack to accompany the seminar with up to date information about publications, organisations and other legal and financial resources.
All aspects of the seminar are fully accessible.
Travel expenses are available and it is FREE to attend.
Dates: Saturday 2nd December for disabled people Saturday 9th December for deaf people
