Calling all visual artists in Southwark (London) - to SVAN networking event at Nolias Gallery
Calling all visual artists in Southwark (London) - to SVAN networking event at Nolias Gallery
Invitation to our next networking event @ Nolias Gallery, Tues 7 Nov, 6.30-8.30pm. Venue: Nolias Gallery, Thomas a Becket, 320 Old Kent Road London SE1 5UE
Southwark Visual Arts Network is one of the creative networks run by Southwark Arts Forum. To join the SVAN you need to be a member of Southwark Arts Forum - this is free and painless, simply sign up at http://www.southwarkartsforum.org Once a member, please contact Pamela Hatton at mailto:Pamela@southwarkartsforum.org / 020 7252 8672 to express your interest in joining the network.
Networking meetings are held approx every 8 weeks and local artists are invited to contribute and share opportunities, practice or ideas. The sessions are informal and encourage networking amongst members to discover new collaborators and partners! The sessions will take place at a different host venue for each meeting - we aim to source a venue that has visual arts focus or links.
This will be an ideal opportunity to hear Nolia herself, who set up and runs Nolia’s Gallery (in 3 venues!), talk about the galleries and the current exhibition ‘Section’. This will be followed by network member Mireia Guitart giving a short presentation about her project ‘It’s not me that’s crying’. ‘It’s not me that’s crying’ is a testimony of recovery and strategies for living with manic depression. Her current exhibition consists of images in which we witness an intimate record of the artist world. In justaposition, the poems (written in collaboration with poet Francisco Pereiro) describe working through the inner conflicts, dialogue and collaboration. ‘It’s not me that’s crying’ will be exhibited at Nolias Gallery, 60 Great Suffolk Street from 17 to 21 Nov.
RSVP: Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If you would like to attend, please let me know at either mailto:Pamela@southwarkartsforum.org / 020 7252 8672 as soon as possible.
