THE PEACE CAMP At the Brick Lane Gallery hosted by Bob and Roberta Smith and the Fu*ks.
2 - 31 December 2006
MAKE A PIECE OF ART FOR PEACE.
The exhibition will be hosted at the Brick Lane Gallery in the run up to Christmas. A time of joy and a time to celebrate peace and a time to bring people together and reflect. On peace.
Bob and Robert Smith and The Fu*ks have asked: Artists, musicians, poets, philosophers, politicians, performance artists, writers, builders, carpenters, tailors and more what is your vision of peace?
Paint about peace. Draw about peace. Make a sound about peace. Write about peace. Sculpt about peace. Talk about peace. Perform for peace
What would you do for peace? For example: Cut your hair for peace and send to the UN, read War & Peace for a day, all submissions accepted.
Gallery ceasefire: do you own or run a gallery? Let’s have a ceasefire for a day, in the name of peace.
One artist a day will camp out at the gallery and give us their vision of peace whether through performance, music, graffiti, painting Each week-end, we will invite artists, journalists, politicians, musicians and writers to give a talk centred around the concept of peace.
Come and spend time in our peace room and watch some peaceful images whilst relaxing on a sofa.
Help George and Gemma from the Fu*ks to write the new anthem for peace. The public will be invited to leave their suggestions and thoughts about peace and write down lyrics for their soundtrack for peace.
