The photgrapher Anna Arca studied photography at London College of
Communication, where she achieved the Diploma in Professional Photography
Practice and the Certificate in Experimental Photography Printing.

Over the last two years she has developed a particular interest in macro
photography, exploring the potential of the technique to create evocative
abstract images.

This exhibition features two projects.

The first, “Kaleidoscope”, is a series of macro photographs taken inside
plastic bottles.

The ambient light, transmitted and reflected by the plastic layer and the
water, produces mutating colours and patterns.

The second project is titled ‘Incense’.
Shifting plumes of smoke are frozen into ethereal shapes with colour
variations obtained by filtering the light sources.
